Hamburger at Creaksea Barns
With such a long and beautiful coastline there are many opportunities to experience stunning views while eating and drinking in Maldon District. Wilkins latest tearoom 'View River Cafe'  has views across to Osea Island. At Hythe Quay in Maldon you can sit alongside Thames barges outside 'Queen's Head Inn'. Over on the Crouch at Burnham Quay take advantage of the outdoor seating area at 'Quayside Cafe' to look across to Wallasea Island. Another stunning location with far reaching views is Tollesbury Wick and Marina where a Victorian Sail Loft now hosts 'The Loft Tearooms' .

SUNDAY LUNCH

The Chequers Goldhanger
Diners are spoilt for choice in Maldon District when seeking the perfect Sunday Lunch. From traditional roast dinner, seafood or something a little different there are plenty of options. Sunday Lunch could be combined with 'Exploring Maldon District'. For example, a pleasant stroll along the River Crouch passing many popular pubs and cafes such as 'Parlour Cafe' or Ye Olde White Hart. During Summer months it is possible to book a boat from Heybridge Basin along the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation Canal to 'Le Bouchon Brasserie' which is situated further along the canal.

TEA ROOMS, CAFES & COFFEE HOUSES

Coffee and sandwiches at Lock Tea Rooms
Both Burnham on Crouch and Maldon High Streets have a choice of Cafes, Tea Rooms and Coffee Houses. Mrs Salisbury's Famous Tea Room on Maldon High Street has outdoor seating alongside the artisan shops in Brights Path. The Tall Green House was once the Temperance Hotel in Burnham on Crouch High Street, now a coffee house, it has maintained its beautiful Victorian facade. At Heybridge Basin Lock there is a Tiptree Tea Room called The Lock and at Hythe Quay in Maldon The Barge Tea Rooms are actually on a Thames Barge.
