EVENTS

The Maldon District offers a full calendar of entertainment to suit all interests and budgets year round. Often events are staged in quirky venues that are sure to make your experience unique and memorable. Watch our annual fireworks display set against the spectacular backdrop of traditional Thames Barges, or a popular drama performed in a tractor shed. Dance the night away in a WWI aerodrome hangar, listen to a world-class choir perform in an historic chapel, or camp like a castaway on beautiful Northey Island. Colourful regattas, beer festivals, country shows, the inspiring Saltmarsh75, and of course, the internationally renowned Mud Race, all have their home here!

Latchingdon Arts and Drama Society (LADS) present the classic thriller Rope by Patrick Hamilton. Performed by amateur actors, doors will open at 7pm and the performance will start at 7.30pm. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks will be available for purchase during the interval.
Alice D'Lumiere will perform verse and prose with flashes of cabaret and a touch of burlesque. She will explore the position of the genderfluid individual striving to fit in but also wanting to speak up. This is a show about how delightfully curious life can be when you decide to step beyond your birth gender.
The Maldon Choral Society presents 'The Passion of Christ' by Arthur Somervell with organist Duncan Archard. The performance is directed by Gillian Ward Russell. There will be no bar, but refreshments will be available for purchase including soft drinks, sweet, and hot cross buns.
The Museum of Power will be holding an evening of great fun and experience for all ages, combining good food with a dramatic crime scene and a clue solving game. Tickets include a three course dinner and drinks on arrival. Victorian and Edwardian fancy dress is welcome.
Hello Campers! Join Peggy, Gladys, Ted, Spike, Jeffrey and the Yellow Coats as they try to deal with the ups and downs of life at Maplin's Holiday Camp. This stage version of the popular television sitcom is written by Paul Carpenter and Ian Gower, and is presented by Maldon Drama Group.
In this workshop accompanying her new show "Speaking Out and Fitting In!" Alice d’Lumiere invites you to try some creative writing and more importantly creative speaking. Alice herself is genderfluid and welcomes discussions and expressions of all gender identities.
