The Maldon District has a brilliant variety of local events for residents and visitors alike. There's plenty of groups and sporting clubs for those who like to be active, whether it be Morris dancing, yoga, Tai chi, Stand Up Paddle or seated exercise. For the musically-inclined and those interested in art, there are numerous concerts and open mic nights, art exhibitions and craft groups. There are weekly and monthly markets, regular talks about local history and conservation, coffee mornings, quiz nights and much more.

Burnham Market

Burnham Street market is held every tuesday morning from 8am - 2pm in the High Street opposite the Clock Tower.

The market has a range of stalls selling fresh fish, meat, bread, fruit & veg as well as other traditional market items.


Market Stall

Burnham Farmers Market is held on the third Sunday of each month at the Village Hall in Devonshire Road, Burnham on Crouch from 9am - 12.30pm.

A range of local products are available including fresh produce and horticultural items.


Maldon Country Market

Maldon Market is held on Thursdays from 9am - 3pm in Butt Lane Car Park.

With a range of stalls selling traditional market items as well as fresh produce, there is plenty to choose from.

Maldon and Burnham-on-Crouch have direct bus links to other towns within Essex. A network of local buses connect the villages of the northern district and Dengie Peninsula to both Maldon, Burnham-on-Crouch and beyond.

Train Times & Information - National Rail

There are four train stations in the Maldon District which are located in Burnham-on-Crouch, Southminster, Althorne and North Fambridge. These towns and villages in the Dengie Peninsula are accessible by London Liverpool Street via Wickford.
