Maldon Tourist Information Centre

Come and pop in to the Maldon and Burnham-on-Crouch Tourist Information Centres to see a wonderful array of locally sourced gifts which are perfect for Christmas. Our selection includes:

> Christmas-themed, nautical and flower-themed fused glass made by local artist Helen Rose, who makes both hanging decorations, standing curves and framed fused glass.

> Chutneys, jams and mustards from Furzedown Smallholding in Mundon, all hand prepared and cooked in small batches, keeping that fresh homemade taste.

> Handmade woodwork items from the Maldon Shed including bug hotels, bird boxes, match strikers, keepsake boxes and more.

> Honey from local beekeepers including Keith Lomax in Burnham-on-Crouch, and Maldon Beekeepers such as Scarlett Dawson in Ulting.

> Souvenirs including bookmarks, notebooks, mugs and cards with artwork from local artist Kevin Robinson.

> Books about local history and maritime heritage are particularly popular in the run up to Christmas. The vast majority of the books we stock at both TICs are written by local authors.


Neil Fendell Posters of Maldon, Burnham-on-Crouch and Thames Sailing Barges
Neil Fendell is an Essex artist who creates posters inspired by local areas and places he loved to visit whilst growing up. We have three of his designs including Promenade Park in Maldon, the quay at Burnham-on-Crouch and the Thames Sailing Barge, and we sell A4 posters and cards of these three designs.


Peter Deans' Pottery
Peter Deans is a local potter from Tollesbury and his pottery is especially popular during the Christmas period. We have a variety of his large salt pigs, small salt pigs, salt dishes, honey pots, garlic pots and tea bag pots. They come in a range of colours and glazes and are excellent gifts which people can use on a daily basis.


Claudia Myatt
Claudia Myatt is a local artist and has produced a range of Maldon and Burnham-on-Crouch souvenirs with her artwork. These souvenirs include cork-backed hard wearing coasters, ceramic mugs and heat proof tiles. She has also produced a range of colourful nautical-themed tiles, mugs and coasters as well.

There is a wide selection of Wilkin & Sons Tiptree products at the Maldon and Burnham-on-Crouch Tourist Information Centres. You can choose from various jams, chutneys, sauces, marmalades, jellies, honeys, and spreads. The gift boxes are popular year round, and vary from preserve and marmalade selections, chocolate, honey and savoury selections.

We also stock the new natural wax candles and miniature candles which are excellent stocking-fillers. The candles and diffusers have a range of scents from Little Scarlet Strawberry, Orange & Tangerine, Lemon Curd, Victoria Plum, Apple and more. There are also gift boxes of four miniature candles, which are English Berries, Citrus Fruits and English Orchard. 



At the Maldon Tourist Information Centre, we have a range of beer, wine and spirits from local breweries, vineyards and distilleries in the Maldon and Braintree Districts. They are part of the Grape and Grain Trail which showcases local producers from Constable Country to the Crouch Valley.

We have a selection of beers, ales and stoats from the Maldon Brewing Company, Mighty Oak Brewery, Wibblers Brewery and Nethergate Brewery. There is a variety of wines from New Hall Vineyard and Crouch Ridge Vineyard which includes pinot noir, Bacchus, pinot noir rosé, Classic Brut and more. We also have spirits, gins and liqueurs from Clayhill Vineyard and Mighty Oak Brewery.

Book now for the ever popular Mangapps Railway Museum Santa Specials. Tickets include travel by train to see Father Christmas in his grotto, a gift for the children, seasonal refreshments and there is also a large indoor museum to explore.
Father Christmas will be arriving by plane to greet the children and reindeer. Have your photo taken in his sleigh and choose a gift. Enjoy family craft activities where you can make your own decorations to take home.
Maldon Panto
Come along and join the Maldon Drama Group who will be performing the annual Maldon Pantomime in January. Next year's production has been announced and will be Alice in Wonderland, which will be fun for all the family to enjoy.
