There will be vintage cars, classic cars, sports and American cars, as well as military and commercial vehicles, retro cars and motorbikes. Along with the Classics on the Promenade, there will also be lots of entertainment for you to enjoy and stalls for you to explore. The Maldon Motor Show will be held in the Promenade Park. The event is free to attend and will be a great day out for all the family!

This is an opportunity to enter your vehicle in of one of the biggest events in Essex.

Catergories are:

Pre-1975 classic vehicles (pre-booking only)

Vehicles 1975-1995 (pre-booking advised)

Vehicles of special interest 1995-2005* (pre-booking advised)

Car Club stands are also available (pre-booking only)

Alternatively, with vehicles as above 1975-2005 you have the option to turn up on the day.

The Maldon Motor Show welcomes vintage, classic, sports, American, military & commercial vehicles, retro and motorcycles. All vehicles must arrive between 07:30 & 09:30 on the day.

Along with the Classics on the Promenade, there will be an Autojumble with thirty-five stands for all car enthusiasts to browse, Motor trade stands representing ten local classic car associated companies, and over 30 car clubs which will cover a wide number of makes and models, from Minis to Ferraris.

There will also be a vintage fair with vintage clothing and memorabilia from 1920s-1960s, children's entertainment, a military display celebrating VE75, a craft fair and scalextric/slot car racing for all ages.

All day live entertainment will be presented by Crystal Radio and will star Black Webb, Sun Rayz Live 'n Rockin, Baz Vegas Hollywood Big Sound, Maldon Big Sing Choir, Burlesque Bombshells and Air Raid Jive Club.

Plenty of food and refreshments will be available on site, including a Retro Ice Cream Van & Classic Coffee Van and a Vintage Tea Room. Numerous pubs, restaurants and cafes are close by in the High Street for you to choose from.

There will also be 'Cars from the Stars', and vehicles previously shown in past years include Jamie Oliver’s Shoot Bus - The Cock in Cider, Jool’s Mustang, one of Chris Evans Ferraris, Le Mans Winner from 1960s Ferrari, Del Boy's Trotter Van, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Lodge's Coach Collection.

You will be able to see a new car display by Quest Motors, who is the major sponsor for the Maldon Motor Show and Maldon’s only new car dealership. They are dealers for Suzuki, Vauxhall, Citroen & Isuzu vehicles.

There are several car parks within the town centre for you to use on the day. The town centre is only a short ten minute walk from the Promenade Park.

All day parking (8am - 10pm) costs only £1 on Sundays in the town centre car parks. Below is the full list of these car parks, which include more information, as well as links to location maps on Maldon District Council's website.

Hythe Quay

For well over a thousand years Hythe Quay has been the gateway to Maldon for vessels arriving from the sea.

The Museum in the Park

Social history museum of Maldon and District situated on the edge of the award winning Promenade Park.

The Moot Hall

This 15th Century former manorial home houses a unique brick spiral staircase, a Georgian court room, a former prison and a Victorian Council Chamber.

Topsail Charters

Historic sailing barges ‘Hydrogen’ and ‘Thistle’ are available for regular public cruises and also for private hire for groups up to 50 from a variety of East Coast locations including Maldon and Ipswich.

The Viking Saga Boat Trips

The Viking Saga, listed on the UK National Historic Ships Register, was built locally in 1947. After a complete restoration she is now used for public cruises from Maldon and neighbouring ports.
