SALTMARSH Half Marathon & Ultra Marathon - Saturday 3rd October 2020

The Saltmarsh Half Marathon 

Covering 13.1 miles this challenge takes you along the coastal path following the River Crouch from Marsh Farm, South Woodham Ferrers, to Burnham-on-Crouch finishing in the beautiful Riverside Park. The event is open to runners and walkers of all abilities who want a rural trail challenge.

Price: Individual entry price for a walker or runner is £28 per person, of whch £2 will be donated to Farleigh Hospice. Prices include transport back to the start, if required. Participants must be at least 18 years old on the day of the event. You should be in good health, and capable of completing 13.1 miles in 4.5hours. 

The Saltmarsh Ultra Marathon

This Ultra will see participants tackle over 50 miles of the Maldon District’s 75 mile coastline in one day. Starting from Marsh Farm, South Woodham Ferrers and following the coastal path around the Dengie Peninsular to the historic town of Maldon, and a warm welcome at the finish line in the picturesque Promenade Park.

The Ultra is open to runners, walkers, duos and relay teams, the event will push participants to their limit. Spaces will be limited for this fully-supported and landmark event.

Prices: Individual runner or walker is £55

Duo or a team of two running as a relay team is £80

Relay team of up to four people is £110

£5 from each of the Ultra entry fees will be donated to Farleigh Hospice. 

All prices are inclusive of transport from the finish to the start (relay team members stopping at check points will need to arrange their own transport)

Participants must be at least 18 years old on the day of the event. You should be in good health, and capable of completing 50 miles within a 17 hour limit.

You’ll need both strength of mind and of legs to conquer one of Britain’s true remaining wild places.


Entries remain open to the Saltmarsh Half Marathon (13.1 miles) and The Saltmarsh Ultra Marathon (52.4 miles). 

The team at Saltmarsh75 headquarters are closely reviewing national guidance on events. Your health and that of our volunteer teams, are at the foremost of our planning and preparations.

We have taken the decision to keep entries open, as we are hopefully we will be able to offer the event as planned. We may have adjust certain aspects or practices but we love a challenge just like you...
