Maldon Splash Park

This fantastic children's water park is located in The Valley at the centre of Promenade Park. It is extremely popular throughout the season, however opening times are weather dependent so be sure to check before heading down.

This is a large open site on the edge of the village with views to the south towards the Blackwater Estuary. There is an outdoor gym consisting of twelve exercise stations including a cross trainer, leg press and sit up bench.

An attractive site on the edge of the village with areas of long grass, hedgerows and mature oak trees. Car park, football pitch, 5 a side goals, basketball hoop, children's play site, dog walk area, teen shelter and seating.

 

Great Totham Road, Wickham Bishops, Witham, CM8 3NP

This site is the largest parish facility in the Maldon District and is owned and managed by Beacon Hill Sports Association.

 

off St Georges Close, Heybridge, Maldon, CM9 4RZ

This site is managed in partnership with the Friends of St Georges Field. It is accessible from St Georges Close, The Colliers (disabled access) and via the sea wall from Heybridge Lock.

"This site consists of two large areas of grass, a large block of ancient woodland and buffer strips of shrubs and trees. It is adjacent to a footpath and cycleway which provides good links to the whole of south Maldon.

A large, well equipped site with easy access near the centre of the village. In 2004 the site received the Essex Playing Field Association Best Kept Playing Field Award and in 2005 won first prize for the Best Kept Children's Play Ground.

Well equipped and maintained site in a pleasant setting with views to the north west towards the Blackwater estuary. Village hall, car park, football pitch, basketball court, skateboard ramps, childrens play site, wildflower meadow & copse.

 

Howe Green Road, Purleigh, CM3 6QA

A large, well equipped site in a lovely setting on the edge of the village. Car park, sports pavilion (available for private hire), cricket pitch, football pitch, two croquet lawns, enclosed children's play area and basketball hoop.

 

Fish Street, Goldhanger, Maldon, CM9 8AU

Surrounded by mature trees, this attractive site has access to the adjacent sea wall footpath and good views over the Blackwater estuary. Childrens play site, football pitch and benches.

 

The Esplanade, Mayland, Chelmsford, CM3 6AL

An area of grassland adjacent to the sea wall in Mayland. Across the middle of the site is the remnants of an old borrow dyke which is now dry most of the year.

 

Church Hill, Woodham Walter, Maldon, CM9 6RF

This is a steeply sloping site with a relatively flat area at the top of the site. The elevated position allows good views over the village of Woodham Walter and beyond to the Chelmer Valley. Football goals and seating.

 

The Drive, Mayland, Chelmsford, CM3 6GT

A large, open site adjacent to Lawling Playing Field. Large car park, enclosed children's play site, developing woodland areas and surfaced paths.

 

South Street, Bradwell-On-Sea, Southminster, CM0 7QJ

Attractive site, surrounded by hedgerows and with a number of mature oak trees. Village hall, car park, enclosed children's play area, basketball net, football pitch, picnic benches, youth shelter, BMX skills ramp.

 

Heybridge Approach, Heybridge, Maldon, CM9 4PS

Consists of meadow, rank vegetation, scrub trees, wet ditches and open water. A man-made lake and island make up about one third of the site. Facilities include all weather paths and a number of seats near the lake.

 

Drapers Chase, Heybridge, Maldon, CM9 4QT

A large sports ground with associated sports pavilion and changing rooms. It is the home of Maldon Cricket Club, Maldon Croquet Club, Maldon Rugby Club and Maldon Tennis Club.

 

Colchester Road, Heybridge, Maldon, CM9 4AL

Located near to the centre of Heybridge, this site has good access from the surrounding area. Large car park, modern hall, enclosed children's play site and football pitch.

A small, steeply sloping area of grassland, trees and shrubs, adjacent to the public footpath linking Fullbridge and Downs Road.

Limebrook Way, Maldon, CM9 6YR

This site consists of a 1.5 mile section of the former Maldon to South Woodham Ferrers railway line. Most of the embankments are covered with woodland and scrub but volunteers try to keep the central trackway clear.
