This site is managed in partnership with the Friends of St Georges Field. It is accessible from St Georges Close, The Colliers (disabled access) and via the sea wall from Heybridge Lock.

Previously a dense blackthorn scrub that was completely inaccessible, this site has now been opened up in part with paths and a central glade.

A large, well equipped site with easy access near the centre of the village. In 2004 the site received the Essex Playing Field Association Best Kept Playing Field Award and in 2005 won first prize for the Best Kept Children's Play Ground.

One of the largest and best equipped parish fields in the Maldon District, this open, flat site is bordered to the south by a large flooded former gravel pit.


Church Hill, Woodham Walter, Maldon, CM9 6RF

This is a steeply sloping site with a relatively flat area at the top of the site. The elevated position allows good views over the village of Woodham Walter and beyond to the Chelmer Valley. Football goals and seating.

This small, triangular shaped site is located at the centre of the village. Swings, slide and pond. Pedestrians are advised to take care when crossing the road to this site.


Woodrolfe Hard, Tollesbury, Maldon, CM9 8SE

Woodup Pool is a salt water amenity pool with an area of sand at one end. Children should be supervised at all times as there are no lifeguards in attendance. Toilets are also available at Woodrolfe Green.

A small, steeply sloping area of grassland, trees and shrubs, adjacent to the public footpath linking Fullbridge and Downs Road.

This site is located between the Maldon bypass, the River Blackwater and the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation. It consists of a large reedbed and an adjacent meadow and is managed for the benefit of wildlife.

Seasons Wood consists mainly of hawthorn and blackthorn scrub. To the northern end of the site is a small area of grassland and a balancing pond.

This small, triangular shaped site is located at the centre of the village. Swings, slide and pond. Pedestrians are advised to take care when crossing the road to this site.

Small site accessible on foot from Hester Place or The Pippins. Enclosed children's play site, kickabout area, basketball net, wildlife area.

This park is comprised of mown grassland with a large number of mature trees of different species and a play park.


Downs Road, Maldon, CM9 5HG

An area of grassland and trees which slopes gently down to saltmarsh at the edge of the River Blackwater. At the top of the site near the road is a tarmac path and a number of benches.
