Details

Humphrey Spender lived and worked at his studio designed by the architect Richard Rogers, near Maldon. He was a versatile photographer, artist and designer during his lifetime. He also designed Maldon’s Millennium Embroidery, however is still best known as a pioneering documentary photographer from his early years.
This exhibition will include some rarely seen photographs printed from the original 1930’s and 1940’s negatives, plus paintings and original prints released by the Spender Studio especially for this exhibition.
