Basin Pleasure Boats

Daisy Meadow Car Park,
Heybridge Basin,

Described as England’s forgotten waterway, the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation Canal can be enjoyed on a leisurely trip on board the 'Elver'. Originally a 1930’s built Welsh coal boat fitted with a bow at both ends, this horse drawn narrow boat was converted into a 25 ft passenger boat.

Daily hour long trips leave Heybridge Basin near the sea-lock, where the canal meets the estuary, and proceed along the quiet waterway. Gently winding along the canal at a leisurely 4 knots gives the passenger ample time to take in the scenery and wildlife.

2 hour sunset cruises to Beeleigh Falls can be booked in advance and are ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, a romantic night out, or just relaxing with friends.
