The Maldon District has a number of galleries showcasing different forms of visual art, from professional to amateur work with the local landscapes and maritime heritage often providing the ideal inspiration for artists.

The Maeldune Heritage Centre has a permanent gallery space with monthly artists exhibiting including different medias such as pottery and ceramics.

The Burnham-on-Crouch Art Trail is a popular annual event, showcasing a wide range of local artists with work displayed in venues in and around the streets of Burnham-on-Crouch.

The 'Tractor Shed' is the permanent home for one of our many highly regarded local amateur groups who put on a wide range of plays and shows. Touring theatre companies visit the Maldon District regularly and during the summer, you may wish to watch outdoor performances in the amphitheatre in Promenade Park.

The Maeldune Heritage Centre

The Maeldune Heritage Centre, set in the beautiful old St Peter's Church, is one of Maldon's most fascinating visitor attractions, mixing local history, temporary art and craft exhibitions, tourism information and the permanent home of the incredible 42ft long Maldon Embroidery. The Centre has a Sensory Access Charter Mark for its work in improving access for people with sight and/or hearing impairments.
Sculpt Gallery

Sculpt Gallery is one of only a handful of art galleries in the UK specialising in contemporary British sculpture and studio ceramics. Founded in 2012 by Debra Blik, the gallery programme showcases work by a select stable of established and emerging artists, with an emphasis on East Anglian talent. Taking advantage of its rural setting, the gardens surrounding the gallery also display several monumental sculptures by international sculptor Maurice Blik, who lives and works on site.
Maldon Studios

Angelique Hartigan is a Maldon-based artist who sells online at Maldon Studios. She specialises in local landmarks and landscapes, inspired by the pretty town and the surrounding countryside which she shares daily and in all weathers with her dogs on inspirational walks.
Hayletts Gallery

Hayletts Gallery is a well-established independent art gallery selling a wonderful collection of Contemporary and Modern British, European Masters and East Anglian art. The Gallery is currently operating online with pop-up exhibitions in interesting venues.
WhimbrelArt gallery

WhimbrelArt in Tollesbury is a gallery specialising in the work of local artists and craftspeople, along with special occasion gifts and jewellery. Work is exhibited by artists including local watercolour painters Mike Lang and Jonathan Smith, mixed media artist Sally Pudney and oil painter Lawrie Flood. The gallery also exhibits pottery by Peter Deans and a wide range of greetings cards.
