About
Maldon Fitsteps Walks are gradually resuming as walking leaders become available. Please visit https://www.walkingforhealth.org.uk/walkfinder/east-england/maldon-fitsteps for details of the walks currently available.
Maldon Fitsteps incorporates Country Walks for the Over 50s, is an accredited walking for health scheme coordinated and led by volunteers in the local community. The scheme is supported by a partnership including the Ramblers Association and other community groups.
Walking makes you feel good, and Fitsteps provides an opportunity to have fun, socialise and meet new people. Fitsteps is also perfect for those who wish to take part in physical activity and want to be active.
Fitsteps offers a choice of walks, three times a week across the Maldon District and the South Chelmsford locality. The healthwalks are scheduled on a weekly basis and include two walks of up to 4.0miles (under 90 minutes) on Tuesdays and Thursdays and a Friday walk at the Maldon Promenade Park which is 1.0 to 1.5 miles (30 minutes). Extra healthwalks are scheduled in the Dengie area on Thursdays. All walks start at 10am and are led by volunteer walk leaders.
All the walks are FREE and mainly on Public Rights of Way footpaths. The paths are easy to walk on and are either flat or have a very slight gradient. Distances range between one to four miles. Longer walks are also available.
