COVID-19 update: 16 June 2021

We are looking to open the Splash Park in summer 2021, with bookings opening up later in the summer season when we have confirmed staffing etc.

All opening announcements will be made in due course via this page and our social media. All bookings this year will be made via an online booking facility as well so you will be able to view all availability on there, these details will also be shared in due course.

 

Welcome to Maldon Splash Park, Essex's favourite children's water park!

Located in the centre of Promenade Park in Maldon, the Splash Park offers a family and child friendly environment to cool off in. Featuring a great selection of interactive and accessible play equipment to enjoy, this is the perfect summer destination for a family day out!

 

Frequently asked questions: 

What time do you open? 

We open at 10:30am every day unless we are forced to close due to maintenance or staffing issues, bad weather, or an emergency. 

What time do you close? 

We close at 5pm every day unless we are forced to close early due to maintenance or staffing issues, bad weather, or an emergency. 

How much does it cost? 

Each session costs £3.25 per ticket.

Where can I park? 

Pay and Display parking (which includes disabled parking) is available in Promenade Park. Details for these can be found at Parking - Visit Maldon (visitmaldondistrict.co.uk)

Are there toilets on site? 

Yes, there are public toilets (including disabled access toilets) located next to the Splash Park by the Petting Zoo. 

What is your clothing policy? 

All visitors must wear appropriate swimwear. 

Younger visitors must wear a swim nappy. 

Can I take photos? 

Yes, you can take photos of your friends and family. If you see someone taking photos who you suspect is behaving inappropriately, please speak to a member of staff or call Essex Police on 101. 

Can I bring my dog/pet? 

No, dogs and pets are not allowed within the fenced area of the Valley Play Area, Splash Park and Beach Huts at any time, except for service animals such as guide dogs. 

Is the Splash Park / Beach Huts accessible for those with disabilities? 

Yes, the Splash Park has step-free access throughout. 

A wheelchair is provided for wheelchair users wishing to use to the Splash Park. 

Is the water treated? 

The water is treated with Sodium and Sodium Hypochlorite which could cause an allergic reaction, please test the water on your skin before entering. 

Can I take food or drink into the Splash Park? 

No, please do not bring any food, drink or glass into the Splash Park. 

Food and drinks can be eaten at the picnic benches located around the park. 

Food and drinks can be purchased at the kiosks nearby. 

 

Important Information:

Clothing 

All users should wear appropriate swimwear at all times and young children must use swim nappies.

For Your Safety

- The water in the Splash Park is chemically treated with sodium and bisulphate sodium hypochlorite.
- There is a possibility of an allergic reaction so always test the water on your child's skin before they enter the water play area.

Please do not:

Drink the water.
Run in the play area or climb on the water features.
Bring plastic bottles or other containers into the water area.
Bring food, alcohol or glass bottles into the Splash Park.

Please note

Dogs are not permitted in the Splash Park or within the surrounding fenced play area.

Little Mishaps

Should any child have a 'little mishap' the facility may close for the rest of the day for cleaning - please help us to reduce this risk.

Health Information

- The health and well-being of all visitors is a prime concern and Splash Park staff are on hand to help minimise the risk of injury or infection.
- With large numbers of children playing together, infection can spread quickly.
- Do not bring an unwell child to the Splash Park - especially if they have experienced diarrhoea or vomiting in the previous 48 hours.
- Waterproof dressings should be used to cover any cuts, grazes or verrucas and children should be protected from the sun with a high factor sun cream.
- All accidents in the Splash Park should be reported to first aid staff immediately.
