About

This village church has stood since 1150, with a major restoration taking place in the 1870s. It stands in a picturesque setting on the River Chelmer and was once a place of pilgrimage ranking alongside Walsingham and other famous shrines.

In the churchyard you will find the Commonwealth War Grave of Private Frederick Barker, of the Essex Regiment, who died in the First World War.
