The beautiful D'Arcy House was the home of celebrated novelist Margery Allingham, whose books featuring the detective Albert Campion are known all over the world. The private home, which is not open to the public, bears a blue plaque to commemorate the author, who was regarded as one of the “Queens of Crime” from the Golden Age of Detective Fiction, alongside Agatha Christie, Dorothy L Sayers and Ngaio Marsh.
