Lest We Forget: The River Crouch at War - talk by Fiona Clegg. Saturday 9 September

Saturday 9 September - SALTMARSH COAST WALKING FESTIVAL EVENING EVENT. Burnham Town Councillor Fiona Clegg gives a talk on the role the river Crouch played in both World War 1 and World War 2. The evening includes an optional two-course dinner and the chance to have a go in a World War 1 flight simulator.
Maldon's Medieval Pubs - Talk by Tim Howson. Sunday 10 September

Sunday 10 September. SALTMARSH COAST WALKING FESTIVAL EVENING EVENT - Maldon District Council Conservation Officer Tim Howson explores the architecture of the oldest surviving inns in Maldon, bringing them back to life through colourful reconstruction drawings.
Northey Island - a talk by National Trust Ranger David Mason. Monday 11 September

Monday 11 September. SALTMARSH COAST WALKING FESTIVAL EVENING EVENT - Join National Trust ranger David Mason for a talk about Northey Island and learn more about the National Trust project to conserve and protect the saltmarsh habitat on the island.
Saltmarsh Coast Wildlife - talk by John Buchanan. Tuesday 12 September

EVENT CANCELLED Tuesday 12 September. SALTMARSH COAST WALKING FESTIVAL EVENING EVENT - Author of Wildlife of Maldon: The Natural History of a Riverside Town John Buchanan gives an illustrated talk exploring the wide variety of habitats and the different species to be discovered in the area, from butterflies to seals, with a particular focus on birds.
Wallasea Island - talk Rachel Fancy of RSPB. Wednesday 13 September

Event Cancelled. Wednesday 13 September. SALTMARSH COAST WALKING FESTIVAL EVENING EVENT - Site Manager at RSPB Wallasea Island for 12 years, Rachel Fancy has seen the Island radically change and grow. At the start of her role, the nature reserve was a building site with all the Crossrail machinery moving tonnes of earth to turn into the wildlife haven it is today.
Filming the Essex Serpent - Jonjo Stickland / Harriet Lawrence. Thursday 14 September

Thursday 13 September. SALTMARSH COAST WALKING FESTIVAL EVENING EVENT - TV location manager Harriet Lawrence and marine co-ordinator Jonjo Strickland talk about the challenges of filming The Essex Serpent in the wild saltmarshes of the Maldon District.

Prepare for a fantastical trip around the ancient streets of Greater Maldon, filled with tales both spooky and supernatural.
Battle of Maldon - Talk by Stephen Nunn. Saturday 16 September

Saturday 16 September. SALTMARSH COAST WALKING FESTIVAL EVENING EVENT - Historian and former Mayor of Maldon, Stephen Nunn, will be retelling the famous story of Earldorman Byrhtnoth and his heroic, but doomed, fight against the Viking invaders.
Six Years Walking the UK Coastline: Talk by Chris Lewis. Sunday 17 September

Sunday 17 September. SALTMARSH COAST WALKING FESTIVAL FINALE - Six Years Walking the UK Coastline: Talk by ex-paratrooper and charity fundraiser Chris Lewis who walked around the entire UK coastline, including its islands, for six years. He started his journey in 2017 with only £10, a broken tent and a pair of shoes that didn’t fit.
