Part of The Saltmarsh Coast Walking Festival - We will explore an ancient track which linked the hilltop town of Maldon to the 12th-century Norbertine abbey at Beeleigh, taking in views of the historic abbey and Beeleigh Falls.

              Monday 11 September. Maldon’s New Nature Reserve & Beeleigh Falls. Part of The Saltmarsh Coast Walking Festival - Explore the area’s newest nature reserve, with your guide John Buchanan, one of the founders of this very special place. The walk will also take in a stretch of the river Chelmer to see the attractive Beeleigh Falls.

                Saturday 16/Sunday 17 September. Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation on foot and by boat. Part of The Saltmarsh Coast Walking Festival - This leisurely 3-mile walk is perfect for families with children. Walk around the seawall from Heybridge Basin, admiring the views across the river of Maldon. Then catch a canalboat from Tesco back along the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation (TBC).

                  Saturday 9 September. Along the Blackwater Estuary to Goldhanger. Part of The Saltmarsh Coast Walking Festival - This linear walk of approximately 7.3 miles takes in a long stretch of the England Coast Path alongside the spectacular Blackwater Estuary, visiting Fullbridge and Heybridge Basin along the way (returning to Maldon by bus).

Part of The Saltmarsh Coast Walking Festival - This longer walk provides the perfect introduction to the countryside and riverside along the Saltmarsh Coast. Starting from Heybridge Basin, explore the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation, see the scenic Beeleigh Falls, and visit the ancient riverside port of Maldon.

Part of The Saltmarsh Coast Walking Festival - This more challenging but lovely circular walk combines a good stretch of walking in Essex countryside with a decent hike on the seawall alongside the Blackwater estuary from the charming village of Goldhanger.
