Inspiration

  1. Burnham-on-Crouch High Street
The renowned yachting centre of Burnham-on-Crouch was once a former oyster port. Visitors can enjoy the town's historical surroundings and the numerous activities on offer, which include walking, sailing and outdoor pursuits, as well as taking advantage of the town's growing reputation for high quality local produce. There are several restaurants, pubs and cafés located on the quay, offering views out across the Crouch Estuary and over to RSPB's Wallasea Island.
  2. Maldon High Street
The ancient market town of Maldon sits proudly perched on the top of a steep hill. It has a fascinating and diverse history and a vibrant community feel to it, bringing visitors back time and again. With an architecturally interesting High Street filled with independent shops, the town attracts both local people and interested tourists. Follow the hill down towards the waterfront and breathe in the fresh air from the saltmarshes.
  3. Let's Keep It Local, made on the saltmarsh coast
The Maldon District Sense of Place 'Keep It Local' initiative celebrates the produce, products and services of the Maldon District. The project will stimulate consumers and businesses to maximise their spending with local independent companies, enabling those companies to serve more local customers in new and safer ways.
