Details
We are proud to be the Custodians of the famous Maldon Embroidery. This wonderful work of art, 42 feet long and alive with vibrant colour and design, celebrates the 1000 years since the celebrated Battle of Maldon in 991.
We also have fascinating displays of ‘finds’ made by the Maldon Archaeological and Historical Society and immensely interesting Archive photographic material organised by the Maldon Society.
Supporting the work of living artists is also very important to us and we promote local artists by offering them a light, bright exhibition space. We have an exciting programme of exhibitions all through the year, showing an eclectic mix of painting, photography, textile art. Artisan pottery and other crafts, and mixed media works.
Last but not least, our attractive gift shop showcases the talent of local artists and craftspeople. Many are Members of the Essex Guild of Craftsmen, and this is reflected by the superb quality and craftsmanship of everything we have for sale.
