About

St. Peter’s Church is central to the spirit of the village and the close community here. We hold services on the second Sunday of the month at 10:00am and a family service every other week.

Our church is a tranquil place to be whether you wish to pray, light a votive candle, admire the church interior or just sit in peace.

The Community Room provides a small meeting room, a kitchen, disabled toilet facilities, and disabled access to the Church.

We have a number of events involving the whole village every year and it is a favourite place for marriages due to the beautiful setting.

The church has a long history dating back to the 11th century. There may well have been a religious site here since Saxon times. We have 8 bells in the church tower, two of which date back to 1657.

The church is open during daylight hours but times may vary so please avoid very early or very late visits.

In the churchyard you will find three Commonwealth War Graves from the First World War; Second Lt S Armstrong, Aircraftman Joseph Pennick and Second Lt Frederick Crowley. All three young men died in 1918, in the service of the Royal Flying Corps.
