Water flowing under the bridge at Beeleigh Falls

About

This event is sold out but don't despair, join our waiting list to receive updates on more exciting opportunities about the Saltmarsh Coast Walking Festival.

We will explore an ancient track which linked the hilltop town of Maldon to the 12th-century Norbertine abbey at Beeleigh. This walk includes the rare opportunity for a private tour of the gardens surrounding Beeleigh Abbey with a delicious cream tea. The walk also takes in the beautiful Beeleigh Falls. Walk Highlight: The spacious and peaceful Abbey gardens alongside the river Chelmer. This is a leisurely walk of approximately 3.5 miles

The Saltmarsh Coast Walking Festival is a 10-day festival, designed to help visitors and locals enjoy the Maldon District's rich tapestry of history and heritage along its 75 miles of coastline. The event will provide led and self-guided walks to suit everyone, from family-friendly short strolls to longer walks for walking enthusiasts. Walks will start from a number of "hives" around the district, including Maldon, Heybridge Basin, Tollesbury, Goldhanger, Burnham-on-Crouch, Bradwell-on-Sea and North Fambridge. Plus, in the evenings there will be a programme of talks and entertainment.
