About

Established since 1931, our club offers a sporting and social atmosphere in a secluded venue just a short distance from the Burnham-on-Crouch quayside. We have a healthy mixed membership of bowling and social members and new members are always welcome to apply. We have qualified bowls coaches for basic instruction and tuition. During the outdoor season, numerous friendlies and competitions are played at home or away.

During the summer we enter teams in the Chelmsford & District Bowling Association’s Wednesday evening leagues plus associated tournaments for the Atkinson Shield and League (Marconi) Cup. We hold many “friendly” games, playing home and away, along with numerous club competitions and, being affiliated with the Dengie Hundred Bowling Association all our bowling members have the opportunity to enter their league, knock-out and friendly competitions. Friday nights hold our very popular members league when new and experienced bowlers play together under very sociable conditions.

During the closed season we have teams in the Jacks Centre's Saturday morning indoor/outdoor league and we run very successful short-mat leagues in our Clubhouse on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. In addition we hold Saturday social occasions for Bingo, Quiz nights, Race nights etc.
