About

Gibbons Engineering Group in Tollesbury, has partnered with ABB Electric Vehicle Chargers to sell and install its Terra AC Wallbox EV chargers within a 50 mile radius.

ABB Smart electric vehicle chargers work with the electrical grid, to ensure that power is only being used when it is most needed and most efficient. Controlled by an app, the user can decide exactly how much they need to top up their car, and if charging overnight is only done at the most efficient time when the power grid is least busy, and electricity is cheapest.

The range includes the Single Phase 7.4kW/32A charger and three Three Phase 22kW charger which provides a fast charge to cars and vans. Stands and cables are also available. The company is an approved installer for the OZEV grant scheme. This means that eligible business customers could receive a grant of between £350-£14,000 for their Electric Vehicle chargers.

A third-generation family firm, it was founded in 1969 in Tollesbury, initially specialising in electric motors, but broadening its scope to include pumps, HVAC, UV and agricultural applications, with electric vehicle charging being a natural progression.
